pouring in nurture, building up strength

Fiercely loving a child who the world may not understand or know how to welcome can take its toll on SEND parent mental health. Combining therapeutic and community work, we enable SEND parents to regularly connect and share in a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space.

This practice reduces anxiety and depression and increases our sense of joy, resourcing us to meet the many challenges of parenting outside of the mainstream. All are welcome in our groups, whether your child is medically complex, neurodivergent, physically disabled or pre-diagnosis.

  • I have been a community development worker since 2006 and take great pleasure in bringing people together.

In 2017 my son was diagnosed with a rare genetic condition. I discovered the loneliness of going through something that no-one around me understood, and was struck by how this isolation was almost as hard as the diagnosis itself. This has given me the resolve to make support groups available to others who are struggling emotionally.

  • I have been an arts therapist since 2010 and have been working with SEND parents for 5 years.

I have seen over and over the incredible healing impact of people coming together to share in a space where they feel safe and free to bring all the parts of themselves. It is a privilege to be part of this community navigating the struggle, sharing the wisdom and finding the joy in the journey.

"Poppy and Naomi are amazing. I love them! We all laughed and cried our way through the sessions and learned a lot."
